One of the last situations any of us want to be in is one where we need an ambulance ride to the emergency room. Unfortunately, at some point or another, we, or someone we know, might be in this situation which makes it crucial to have a staffed ambulance in the community ready to go.
Murray County Ambulance responds to an average of 400 calls per year with service areas primarily in Avoca, Currie, Hadley, Iona, Lake Wilson, and Slayton. The ambulance crew is staffed by volunteers from around the local area and they work tirelessly for the residents in the community.
Here in July, Murray County Ambulance beat their record for the most runs in one month at 60 runs and they’re sitting at just over 300 for the year with five months still to go in 2024. This is a huge accomplishment and a testament to their dedication and hard work. We’re so incredibly proud of this team for going above and beyond to serve the community. Volunteering on a rural community ambulance can be exhausting but extremely rewarding.
