“Here at Murray County Medical Center, one of our biggest drivers is our community and making sure they have access to high-quality healthcare. These achievements through the Lown Hospitals Index exemplify the ongoing exceptional care that is providing to our patients on a daily basis.”
– Amber Humphrey, RN-Quality Manager at Murray County Medical Center
The Lown Hospitals Index is the only national ranking that examines how equitably care is delivered, how well hospitals invest in their communities, and whether patients receive high-value care that avoids unnecessary procedures, in addition to clinical measures. More than 50 metrics contribute to a hospital’s overall score.
“The best hospitals aren’t just clinically excellent, they're deeply committed to the communities they serve and work hard to ensure all patients get the care they need,” said Vikas Saini, MD, president of the Lown Institute. “High performance on the Lown Index shows that hospitals are doing more of what matters to patients and communities.”
