Why we have interventional pain services
Almost everybody at some point experiences back-related pain. The need for interventional pain relief services without having to travel long distances was obvious. At MCMC, we developed multiple interventional pain management injections aided by radiology guidance.
What are interventional pain services?
At MCMC, the surgical and anesthesia department offers a variety of fluoroscopic-aided interventional approaches to delivering steroid and anesthetic medications which alleviate the specific inflammatory pain which then allow the body to eventually heal and allow for rehabilitation. This helps those experiencing chronic or extreme pain to receive relief.
Interventional pain management services offered
The MCMC primary care provider, along with the CRNA, will assess your pain and order an MRI or other radiologic test to help identify which interventional procedure is most likely to alleviate your pain. At MCMC, we offer a variety of approaches to fluoroscopic-aided thoracic and epidural injections. We also provide facet joint injections. Steroids and anesthetic medications are typically used to alleviate the inflammatory pain and allow the body to eventually heal.
